THE WORLD'S GREATNESS HAS NO AGE

For 58 years, thousands of young Americans have taken an oath to honor the United States and represent U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps, the U.S. Navy, and the U.S. Coast Guard. They joined the program as individuals, but quickly learned to think on their feet, work as a team, and live a life dedicated to cultivating the values of honor, respect, commitment, and service.

South Bay Coastal Division is a unit of  the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps official youth program of both the United States Navy and United States Coast Guard. We are dedicated to helping shape leaders with character. Our unit operates year-round, holding monthly drills, performing in parades, participating in encampments, and attending special events.

Six months ago, the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps made the decision along with America to shut down its in-person programming. Quickly, the staff, adults, and cadets adapted. Drills, trainings, and events have been conducted online. Cadets attended POLA, Culinary, Arson Investigation, Recruit Training, STEM, and more from their homes--and when local laws permitted, we safely held small in-person trainings.  While we look forward to returning to our normal operations, and holding all of our trainings in person, we are extremely proud of the adaptability of our cadets and volunteers.

A Sea Cadet’s story is a unique journey marked by the rare opportunities and challenges they have chosen to overcome. While in the program, they grow mentally, morally, and physically. They are imbued with the highest ideals of honor, courage, and commitment. They honor the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for America’s freedom. They are courageous, steadfast in the face of great adversity, and each cadet graduates a responsible citizen, ready to serve their country and their communities.  2020 has been a challenging year for our cadets, but their grit and determination has only grown stronger. Your donation will make it possible for us to reach more young people during this trying time for our country and to expand our ability to provide unparalleled value for parents looking for meaningful life-changing opportunities for their children. Challenges, especially the ones we cannot plan, affect everyone. It is our character that drives us to make good decisions, especially when we face adversity. The young men and women who put on the uniform have the desire to develop their character and test their limits, ultimately pushing themselves to become better leaders. They are young men and women who are disciplined, motivated, and ready to become America’s future heroes.
